Cook County sheriff’s team taking guns if FOID card is revoked

COOK COUNTY, IL — In an act of defiance to the constitution, Cook County Sheriff’s teams are performing door-to-door gun confiscation on residents who have had their state permission slip, called an FOID card, revoked.

Sheriff Tom Dart is sending his Seizure Teams to more than 3,000 households. The teams show up in force at each household and demand that they turn over all of their privately-owned firearms to the state. The seizure teams also confiscate the permission slips.

The point that seems to be lost on people is that all people have certain inalienable rights, including the right to bear arms and protect your family. The state has no legitimate authority to tell people what pieces of property that they may not own.

The Bill of Rights is not a benefits package that only applies to some people and not others. Either we honor them for everyone, or they are simply privileges doled out by the government. Don’t be surprised when you end up on the ‘list’ of people who don’t deserve rights.

What you are seeing is a criminal act performed by the government, violating the supreme law of the land, the constitution. “The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” means exactly that.
