What the federal agencies need to understand is one very simple thing: We are not terrorists. We are non-violent, and we are peaceful. We want nothing more than to be left alone to live our lives in freedom. We have families and we have homes. We want no fight; not today, not tomorrow…But we will not be enslaved… If you come for us, we will stand unmoving. If you shoot at us, we will shoot back. We are willing to give anything for liberty, including our own lives.
Pretty bold words. But it is high time somebody stood up to the bastards. — jtl, 419
Yesterday we reported on the arrest (and later release) of liberty activist Anthony Bosworth, an Iraq War vet and one of the co-leaders of Liberty For All. You may have seen the InfoWars story on his questioning by the FBI. What you don’t know is that it was far worse than even they reported.
If you have already seen the video, then you already know that he was not read his Miranda rights during his arrest. He also wasn’t given his Miranda rights at any time during the three hours of interrogation by various federal agencies. Not only did he confirm with them that he was, in fact, in custody and being interrogated (the two flags that must be present for a Miranda warning), but he specifically and repeatedly requested to speak with an attorney.
Rather than read him his rights and allow him access to an attorney, they told him that he would not be speaking to a lawyer of any kind, let alone one of his choosing. The idea of access to legal counsel as secured by the Constitution, he was told, was “Hollywood stuff.” In other words, we do not care what the Constitution says; we will do to you whatever we want. Under the current “terrorism” laws, they can.
During his five hours of detention, the agents spent three of those hours interrogating him about everything from Liberty for All to how many firearms he owned to how “hostile” patriots were in Washington State. They alternated between threatening him with federal jail time, and offering him everything they could think of in an effort to get him to talk about his associates, his activities, and his beliefs. Some of the information they told him they were already aware of came from people within the movement, at least one of whom had voluntarily met with the FBI in an effort to ‘open dialogue’ a few days ago. It was obvious with other pieces of information that they were simply fishing.
“It was pretty obvious that they desperately want a mole,” Bosworth said. It should also be pointed out that several people were open carrying in that location at that time. No one was even approached except him. No one was arrested. No one was cited. No one was even talked to. He was singled out.
In 2010, the FBI announced its intention to stop paying attention to such piddly things as Constitutional rights, outlining their new guidelines for when they would ignore requests for an attorney and not offer Miranda warnings.
“Depending on the facts, such interrogation might include, for example, questions about possible impending or coordinated terrorist attacks; the location, nature and threat posed by weapons that might post an imminent danger to the public; and the identities, locations, and activities or intentions of accomplices who may be plotting additional imminent attacks,” the memo said.
Naturally, they toss this under the heading of “public safety.” Some of the things they asked Bosworth included variations on that exact list, phrased in such a way to appear as though they were supportive but concerned. Their invocation of the “public safety” guidelines as used for “impending terror attack” can only mean one thing:
To those federal agents, Anthony Bosworth is a domestic terrorist, and by extension, those of us who associate with him and stand with him are as well.
As Infowars also reported, the US Marshal who arrested him told him later that it would be a good idea for him to “disappear for a while,” and just “let things go” for about a year, and if he shut up, got out of the activism business, and stopped all this liberty nonsense, perhaps he could avoid federal charges and jail time. Just some “friendly advice,” you know, from your “friendly” federal agent.
It’s been reported that the Spokane County Sheriff was called and Bosworth was released on the basis of the sheriff’s intervention. What you may not know is that the sheriff was told by certain parties, in no uncertain terms, that if he did not go to the federal building and get Bosworth released, that a large number of armed patriots were available to do it for him. The sheriff dutifully marched into the building and did his job, and Bosworth did end up being released—although he’s still waiting for his firearms to be returned.
The feds took one last run at Bosworth before he left. An agent, using a different name than previously given, asked for future private meetings with him, so Bosworth could explain the Second Amendment to him. The agent claimed he didn’t know much about it, and while he “really supported” what Anthony stood for, he just didn’t know enough and would really like to have some future meetings with Bosworth. Apparently that tactic has already worked at least once. It didn’t this time.
Anthony Bosworth was given a citation for “failure to comply”; with what, exactly, is unknown. It was determined that he was not actually breaking the law by standing in the courtyard outside. He will fight the citation.
The rest of us here in Washington State will continue to stand. We understand the risks, we understand that the federal government sees us as a threat. We are a threat to their control, to their agenda, to their theft of our liberties. But, as our dear friend and fellow patriot Mike Vanderboegh points out: if they don’t start nuthin’, won’t be nuthin’.
If they do decide they want to start something, there’s always the 100 Heads Life and Casualty Company.
What the federal agencies need to understand is one very simple thing: We are not terrorists. We are non-violent, and we are peaceful. We want nothing more than to be left alone to live our lives in freedom. We have families and we have homes. We want no fight; not today, not tomorrow. No Fort Sumters. No Oklahoma City bombings. No innocents. No offensive violence. That is our creed and we will live by it.
But we will not be enslaved. We will not be controlled. We will not be compliant with an agenda that takes from free men and subjugates them into mindless drones for a tyrannical government. We were born free, and we will remain so, until the last breath of air, the last drop of blood. If you come for us, we will stand unmoving. If you shoot at us, we will shoot back. We are willing to give anything for liberty, including our own lives.
